Dave Bresnahan of Faranabrack Receives Film Funding Commitment for The Duke of Tralee Movie

David Mickey Evans (The Sandlot) will direct The Duke of Tralee, a feature film that is expected to begin production in 2017 in Utah, Ohio, and Ireland.
TriStar Finance has agreed to seek funding for the feature film The Duke of Tralee, directed by David Mickey Evans, which is now in development.

Sandy, Utah – Dave Bresnahan of Faranabrack LLC has a commitment from TriStar Financial‘s chief executive officer Michael Olsen to seek financing for the feature film The Duke of Tralee.

“With three to four A-list actors, a fantastic script aimed at a broad general audience, director David Mickey Evans (The Sandlot), and wide distribution in the U.S. and Japan, this film is certain to break the box office record for all baseball films,” said Bresnahan.

Evans has signed on as co-screen writer and director, while Robert Allen Elliott has agreed to be the film score composer and music supervisor. Ray Ellingsen of Moving Pictures Media Group has joined the team as a producer with Bresnahan.

Roger Bresnahan, The Duke of Tralee, was just 16 in 1897 when he became a professional baseball player, but his factory-working Irish immigrant father told him to get a man’s job. Somehow Roger had to find a way to please his father while pursuing his dream of playing baseball.

Dave Bresnahan, who is a distant cousin of Roger, is the owner of Faranabrack LLC and is co-screen writer with David Mickey Evans (The Sandlot) who is the Director of the film.

The Duke of Tralee has an estimated budget of $5 to $10 million, and is expected to be filmed in Utah, Ohio, and Ireland in the summer of 2017, according to Bresnahan. He says many of the scenes will be filmed in the Park City Film Studios, as well as various locations in Utah. The story begins in Ireland, so there will be some scenes filmed there. The early part of the career of The Duke of Tralee took place in the Toledo, Ohio area.

The film promises to appeal to baseball fans with the depiction of baseball in the early 1900s when the game was played with no safety gear, spit balls were legal, and players used tactics fans today would call dirty ball, but the crowds back then loved it. The Duke of Tralee played with greats like Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, Honus Wagner, Christy Mathewson, Joe Tinker, Johnny Evers, Miller Huggins, and John McGraw.
