Thrive15 Is Not Your Average Teacher

Our goal is to teach the practical skills entrepreneurs need to know to help people get from where they are to where they want to be.

Entrepreneur Proves Entrepreneurship Can Be Taught

The average teacher salary in Washington DC is $63,370 per year. This sounds respectable, until you consider that, according to Census data for 2010, the median household income in Washington was $84,523. So, when you’re missing out on over $20,000 of salary, what do you do?

“Clay and Thrive15 was a wakeup call for me,” says school teacher and founder of Launch Academy, Dominic Cooper. “I’m a school teacher because I’m passionate about teaching kids, not because I’m passionate about living in poverty. However, due to the economic realities, I understand that it’s not reasonable for me to expect schools to pay teachers like me more either. I just thought I had to clip coupons and live on the cheap to make ends meet. However, when Clay introduced to me to the idea that I could actually start and grow my own tutoring business it blew my mind. I realize now that I can actually take control of my life. I had a four year degree, yet I had no I idea how to start or grow a business. It took a entrepreneur to teach a teacher how to be an entrepreneur.”

Enter Thrive15.com, the paid practical training online educational program designed to teach the practical entrepreneurial skills that Clay Clark (CEO of Thrive15.com) feels are largely missing in America today. After nearly two years of development, Clark and his of team of millionaires, mentors and everyday entrepreneurship success stories are set to launch the Thrive15.com platform. Thrive15 promises to offer 15-minute web-based, entertaining, and gamified practical training.. Thrive15 has been designed to teach the skills of how to develop a profitable, self-sustaining business.

“Our goal is to teach the practical skills entrepreneurs need to know to help people get from where they are to where they want to be,” says founder Clay Clark, winner of the US SBA Entrepreneur of the Year Award and U.S. Chamber of Commerce National Blue Ribbon Quality Award. Clark who is the founder of nearly a dozen companies says, “America’s greatest resource has always been our entrepreneurs and their ability to find problems and solutions that people are willing to pay for. Our goal at Thrive15 is to teach these entrepreneurial for-profit practical skills that America needs to grow.”

Dominick Cooper, Founder of Launch Academy Tutoring Company in Tulsa, OK, was a high school mathematics teacher who was making as much as a waiter at Olive Garden.  “It was incredibly depressing, “ Cooper explains.  “I had a 4 year degree from a private university and I was still making as much as I did when I waited tables.  I knew I was worth for more than that.”  Within 5 years, Launch Academy grew from Cooper giving free tutoring lessons by himself and hanging flyers up in Panera to 10+ employees and a passive income equivalent to what he was making as a full-time teacher.

And this is not an isolated case. Clay has been an entrepreneurial educator, business coach, workshop leader and speaker for such companies as Hewlett Packard, IBM, Southwest Airlines, and Farmers Insurance and has shattered the myth of top-down leadership.  “Entrepreneurship, just like any skill, is one that is taught,” Clay says. “Yes, some people are natural entrepreneurs, like the college-dropout billionaires we read about, but anybody with the right tools and determination can be just as great if not greater.  Most people never achieve this level of success because they don’t have the entrepreneurial skills they need to start and grow a successful business. America needs mentorship.”
