4 Simple Ideas To Help You Save Money Now

4 Simple Ideas To Help You Save Money Now

One of the barriers to starting a business you can operate from home is start-up capital. Let’s face it, it takes at least some money to start a home based business. Here are three ideas you can start using today that will help you save money and create the start-up capital you need. And it will grow faster than you might think. Rescue your wealth from wasteful spending, in the end you will thank yourself!

Idea 1: Track Expenditures

The first step that everyone should take to save money is to get themselves on track financially and know how they’re spending their money. This is absolutely essential if any financial plan you embark on is to succeed. You have to know where its going and how much to slash!

The only way to know how you’re spending money is to painstakingly track it for one month. Write down everything, and I do mean everything, you spend money on. From the monthly rent or house payment to the gum ball you buy for little Johnny from the vending machine at the supermarket.

Track it all! You’ll be amazed at what you learn about yourself. And I guarantee you’ll see some areas where you can adjust buying habits and save some money.

Idea 2: Shop Wisely

There are a number of things you can do to shop more wisely. Most of these ideas are common sense things you probably already know. It’s just a matter of applying them.

Here they are:

  • Never go grocery shopping when you’re hungry
  • Always have a shopping list and stick to it
  • Use coupons, but only on items you normally buy and use
  • Buy in bulk where possible and practical
  • Avoid buying something just because it’s on sale
  • Purchase items on Craigslist, eBay, or at rummage sales

Idea 3: Save Loose Change

Every night when you get ready for bed, throw your loose change into a jar or some other container. Faithfully take those coins to the bank at the end of every month and have them deposited into the checking account you use for your business. It will add up quicker than you think.

Idea 4: Save Money – Start Today

This idea is applicable to virtually any money-saving initiative. Victor Kiam said; “Procrastination is opportunity’s assassin.” That’s certainly true when it comes to saving money. The longer you put off money-saving initiatives, the longer it will take you to get what you need to start and operate your business. I know that’s simple common sense, but being reminded of the obvious never hurts.
