American Airlines’ first Dreamliner spotted in flight

American Airlines’ first Boeing 787 Dreamliner was on the move Tuesday morning in Everett, Wash.635561438774251087-aa1

The 787-8 aircraft took off from the Paine Field at 9:12 a.m. local time (12:12 p.m. ET) for a test flight. Everett’s Paine Field is adjacent to Boeing’s Everett assembly lines and hosts many flights for the Boeing Company.

American had been scheduled to take delivery of its first Dreamliner late last year, but that delivery has slipped for reasons that the carrier has declined to elaborate on. The carrier now expects to take delivery of the jet early this year, though American has been mum on specifics.
