Ed – The Origami Inspired Wallet that Separates Coins, Cards and Cash

Singapore – Ed Charly launches Kickstarter campaign to fund a new range of minimalist wallets

On June 23rd 2017, Singapore based Ed Charly launched a crowdfunding campaign to fund the production of their tiny coin wallet inspired by origami. Born out of the desire to have a slim wallet that fits everything, Ed Charly is an everyday carry accessory that can also hold multiple cards and cash securely.

“Back in 2015, I came up with the idea of the Ed Wallet because I always found problems each time I travelled” said Ed, Ed Charly co-founder and designer. “I would have to select a smaller wallet, bringing only the the necessities for my trip and with a smaller wallet, I would have the hassle of carrying loose change. We then developed a small sized, minimalist wallet that can be used every day for holding cards, cash and coins with ease”.

Ed has a front coin compartment for coins, back compartment for cards and through slot for holding cash. Measuring 100mm length x 80mm wide x 10mm thick, features include RFID blocking material that keep cards safe from identity theft. The wallet is available in two choices of finishes; full grain leather with saffiano which is scratch and water resistant or crazy horse leather where leather is treated to look and feel aged while retaining its toughness.

The campaign launched on the popular crowdfunding site Kickstarter on June 23 2017 until August 7 2017 with a goal of S$ 5000 (Approx $3628 USD). Perks include a super early bird price of S$ 30 (Approx $22 USD) for a full grain or crazy horse Ed leather wallet, saving 40% off the MSRP. All wallets deliver worldwide.
